CIPPT DESIGNATION AWARDS CEREMONY, 2020
The Chartered Institute of Professional Practitioners and Trainers (CIPPT), a non-profit and SAQA registered Professional Body, held its designation awards ceremony at Emperor’s Palace on 9 December 2020.
Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for 2020 was Mr Joe Samuels. In presenting the award, CIPPT Board Member, Dr Shirley Lloyd, praised Mr Samuels for his outstanding achievements during his time as CEO of South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) from 2012 until May 2020.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Joe Samuels said the world needs three words: Professionalism, Integrity and Competence. He stressed the need to be reflective practitioners in a NQF that works for the people. “Learning never stops. We need integrity for our country and for the world. We need quality data in a world where fake news has become real news,” he said.
